Plot

In the comedic whirlwind "You're in the Army Now," accidental soldiers Homer "Jeeper" Smith and "Breezy" Jones, formerly vacuum-cleaner salesmen, find themselves thrust into the military world. "Jeeper," with his silver-tongued sales charm, strives to convince their old-school Cavalry officer Colonel Dobson, a firm believer in the irreplaceability of horses in battle, that the tide of war is turning towards mechanization. Underneath his persuasive pitch for tanks, "Jeeper" aids in fueling the flames of romance between Bliss, the Colonel's daughter named after the Fort in El Paso, and Captain Joe Radcliffe, a mechanical engineer deeply rooted in the tank corps. Their journey takes a humorous detour when they stumble upon a U.S. O show featuring the captivating Navy Blues Sextette from the film "Navy Blues." Here, "Jeeper" steals the limelight with an unforgettable Apache Dance, adds a surprising twist to the lemonade with alum, and serenades the crowd with "I'm Glad My Number Was Called." The film expertly weaves comedy, romance, and a dash of military drama into an entertaining tapestry that keeps viewers engaged till the end.
