Wishmaster (1997)

At the dawn of existence, when the universe still hummed with fresh creation, God breathed life into three distinct entities: the angels, born of light; mankind, shaped from the earth; and the djinns, sparked into being by fire. Condemned to the ghostly void between worlds, the djinns were creatures of chaos and destruction, their freedom tethered to a chilling rule - the one who wakes a djinn is granted three wishes. On the granting of the third, a nightmarish legion of djinns is unleashed from their in-between realm onto Earth. In the year 1127 A.D., a clever Persian sorcerer managed to imprison a formidable Djinn within the heart of a secret fire stone. This stone, disguised as a priceless opal, remained undisturbed for centuries, its secret sleeping within. Until, in the bustling present day, a drunken crane operator inadvertently shatters an invaluable statue of Ahura Mazda, revealing the stone and setting in motion a terrifying chain of events. When Alexandra Amberson, an up-and-coming gemologist working in an auction house, is tasked with evaluating the unearthed gemstone, she unknowingly stirs the Djinn from its slumber. Once awake, the malevolent creature begins to charge the gem with stolen human souls, feeding on their deepest fears. As the Djinn stalks Alexandra, intent on coaxing out her three wishes, the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. The Djinn, master of twisted desires, has the sinister ability to turn the loftiest dreams into the most grotesque nightmares. Alexandra must outwit this ancient evil, crafting the perfect wish to banish the Djinn back to the shadowy void forever, thereby saving humanity from a world overrun by these demonic beings. Can she understand the cryptic rules of this deadly game in time, or will the Earth fall under the Djinn's hellish reign?
