In the quaint confines of his South Tyrolean village, Mario, a slightly eccentric and tender-hearted soul, is a familiar face. His passion for dance is met with reserved tolerance from his fellow villagers, with only his father truly understanding his spirit. An unexpected encounter at a local festival with Lenz, a childhood friend turned Rome-based actor, rekindles long-dormant memories and emotions. Lured by the allure of Lenz's cosmopolitan life, Mario impulsively follows him to Rome. Their reunion unfolds within the pulsating heart of a Roman gay bar, a setting that jolts Mario into the harsh realization that Lenz's life has moved on without him. However, the bitter sweetness of this awakening is abruptly shattered as armed invaders storm the bar, stealing Lenz's life in their wake while Mario narrowly evades the same fate. Haunted by the tragedy and seeking solace, Mario returns to South Tyrolean, but finds his life irrevocably altered. His journey from the innocence of village life to the harsh realities of the world beyond, leaves both Mario and viewers contemplating the fragility of life and the power of transformation.
