Plot

In the bustling streets of Manhattan, Louden Trott (Griffin Dunne), a lawyer on the cusp of marrying his tycoon boss Simon Worthington's (John McMartin's) exorbitantly spoilt daughter Wendy (Haviland Morris), finds his life turned upside down. Under the weight of an oppressive prenuptial agreement, Louden's life is further complicated when he's tasked with ensuring that the recently paroled Nikki Finn (Madonna), a woman with an unbroken spirit despite four years in jail, doesn't stir up trouble in the city. Yet, Nikki is on a mission to clear her name, and her infectious determination sets New York's rhythm askew in hilariously unexpected ways. The acquisition of an exotic mountain lion, a gift for the even wealthier Montgomery Bell (Sir John Mills), is just the beginning of the chaos. Nikki, with her unique blend of provocation, manipulation, and surprise, becomes a whirlwind that Louden can't escape. As they navigate the city, they are doggedly pursued by a pair of lawless goons and a duo of squabbling police detectives. All are after a key piece of evidence, a token that Nikki adamantly claims will expose the corruption within Worthington’s empire and prove her innocence. "Who's That Girl" is a delightful roller-coaster through the Big Apple, a journey where the line between the law and love is blurred, and where one woman's quest for justice shakes the very foundations of a city that never sleeps.
