In the year 2002, Laura, a dedicated physician ensconced in Buenos Aires, finds herself entwined with her stepfather, Fredo, in the wake of her mother's recent demise. Their lives take an unexpected turn when a cryptic call from Laura's uncle beckons them to the Basque Country in northern Spain. Here, they are confronted with a shocking revelation - the body unearthed belongs to Félix, Laura's long-lost father. Félix, believed to have abandoned his family and fled with their wealth in 1969, is found with a fatal gunshot wound to his neck. Laura and Fredo cross paths with Egoskue, a savvy insurance agent who delivers a mysterious inheritance left by Félix just before his untimely death.
