Weekend (1967)

As the sun rises on a seemingly ordinary Saturday, Roland and Corinne Durand embark on a journey from the bustling city to the tranquil countryside of Oinville. Their destination - the deathbed of Corinne's father, whom they have been slowly poisoning over the years. Beneath their facade of concern lurks a sinister plot to secure a hefty inheritance, a plot shrouded in deceit, infidelity, and a murderous scheme Roland has in store for Corinne. Unbeknownst to each other, the couple is ensnared in a web of extramarital escapades. Corinne remains oblivious to Roland's murderous intent, his plan to eliminate her from the picture and share the spoils with his secret lover. As they navigate their way through the scenic landscapes, their journey becomes a mirror reflecting their corrupted bourgeois values.
