In the heart of Denmark, 1969, a tale of courage and resilience unfolds. As the school bell tolls, 13-year-old Frits finds himself ensnared in a scandal, caught in the girls' locker room. The stern and oppressive school principal, Svendsen, reacts with brute force, damaging Frits' ear to the extent of requiring hospital stitches. This incident, a blatant display of cruelty, sends shockwaves through the small, tight-knit community.
However, standing up to the revered principal is no simple task. The police brush off the incident, labeling it a 'school matter', while Frits' parents grapple with their fears, aware of the daunting consequences faced by others who dared to challenge the system. Yet, a spark of hope flickers in the form of Freddie, a young, free-spirited hippie teacher, and a band of Frits' classmates who rally in support.
