We Are Still Here (2015)

In the wake of a devastating car crash that claims the life of their teenage son, Paul (Andrew Sensenig) and Anne (Barbara Crampton) seek refuge from their grief in the tranquil embrace of the New York countryside. Their new home, a nineteenth-century country house, however, proves to be anything but solace. Beneath its serene façade lurks a malevolent secret, a family of vengeful spirits that preys on the grief-stricken couple. Stifled by sorrow and longing for their lost son, Anne clings to the eerie sensation of his presence in their new abode. Inviting her new-age friends to delve into the house's spiritual aura, they unwittingly expose the dreadful secret the peaceful town has been shrouding. The very walls of their new home tremble with a terrifyingly dark history, and the seemingly idyllic town reveals itself to be a sinister backdrop to their unfolding nightmare. Paul and Anne find themselves in a desperate struggle, pitted against both the living and the dead. The malicious spirits, ravenous for their sorrow, seek to drag their souls – and the soul of their deceased son – into the fiery depths of hell. With their sorrow deepening into abject terror, they must summon the strength to confront their haunting adversaries and the town’s ominous secret to secure their salvation.
