Plot

In the wake of her father's untimely demise, young Momo finds herself clutching an unfinished letter from him, a tangible piece of the past. Leaving behind the electrifying pulse of Tokyo, Momo and her mother relocate to the tranquil, secluded island of Shio. As she navigates her new surroundings, Momo acquaints herself with the local children and immerses in their customs and daily rhythms. However, this serene island soon reveals its mysterious undercurrents. Unseen forces ransack the lush orchards, cherished keepsakes vanish into thin air, and eerie whispers echo from the attic each morning after her mother departs for work. Disconcerted by these inexplicable events and her mother's dismissal of them, Momo resolves to uncover the root of this enigma. Her quest spirals her into a whimsical world of supernatural mischief, where she encounters a mischievous trio of imps: Kawa, the gassy lizard, Mame, the naive sprite, and their colossal ogre leader, Iwa. As she grapples with their antics, Momo unravels an unexpected link between her father's cryptic letter and her own journey on the island. The narrative beautifully weaves Momo's real-life struggles with her fantastical adventure, creating a riveting tale that mesmerizes viewers from start to finish.
