In the throes of inconsolable grief following the brutal death of their cherished daughter Alice, at the merciless jaws of a savage dog, veterinarian Patrick and pharmacist Louise embark on a journey to a remote and enigmatic hamlet known as Wake Wood. Seeking solace in this quaint countryside cocoon, the couple formulates a bond with the charismatic village leader, Arthur, while struggling to navigate their despair. Beneath the rustic charm and pastoral tranquility of Wake Wood, however, lies a chilling secret. Louise stumbles upon a macabre ritual in the woods, unveiling the villagers' practice of an ancient pagan rite capable of resurrecting the dearly departed.
