In the aftermath of the expansionist President James K. Polk's election in 1844, a bold journey to the untamed Oregon Territory is set into motion. Guiding this wagon train of hopeful settlers are the seasoned scout, Clint Belmet, and his loyal sidekicks, Jim Burch and Bill O'Leary. Despite the pioneers' bright-eyed optimism, the path to their new life is far from easy. The harsh realities of the terrain, the unpredictability of the weather, and the resistance from Native Americans and the fur industry, fearing the disruption of their profitable pelt trade, threaten their journey at every turn.
