After paying respects at her father's grave, young Lilly and her mother suffer a horrific car crash that leaves Lilly orphaned and shrouded in darkness, robbed of her sight. As she gropes her way through her newfound blindness, a chorus of mysterious voices begins to echo in her mind, voices not attached to the realm of the living. Years later, Lilly finds happiness in a harmonious marriage, her joy doubled with the expectancy of their first child. However, she learns that her unborn child has become a rare conduit—a second chance for souls lingering in limbo to be reborn. The decision of which soul is to be granted this unique opportunity must be made before the baby's first heartbeat. The spectral voices from Lilly's past resurface, each clamoring for the opportunity of rebirth. Among this cacophony, Lilly forms an unexpected bond with the spirit of a young girl, her existence tethered to a chilling, unsolved crime from years past. Lilly must navigate this haunting predicament, caught between the relentless murderers of her spectral friend and the eager souls yearning for a second chance at life.
