Plot

Dr. Jhilmil Rao, a diligent Pune hospital worker, and her writer husband, Virag, trade their cramped city flat for an expansive bungalow nestled in the serene outskirts of Saswade. This new environment promises an oasis of solitude for Virag's writing, while Jhilmil and her sister, Radhika, find the commute to their respective commitments convenient. Their son, Rohan, delights in the abundant playground that surrounds their new home. In the embrace of solitude, Rohan quickly befriends two mysterious children, Manish and Jyoti, unseen by any other family member. The family attributes Rohan's new companions to his vivid imagination, a trait seemingly inherited from his storytelling father. To lighten their domestic load, the Raos hire a maid named Rukma, who soon falls under Rohan's accusations of attempted murder and theft. In an unexpected twist, the local police report the tragic demise of Rukma in a hit-and-run incident, corroborating the boy's claim of her murderous intent. Items stolen from the Rao household are also recovered from the deceased maid, intensifying the mystery. The seemingly quiet and ordinary life in Saswade suddenly becomes a web of enigmatic questions and eerie occurrences. The linchpin of this unexplained conundrum is an ancient tree standing guard outside the Rao's new abode. As ominous events unfold, it becomes evident that the tree and the house harbor restless spirits from the past. The unseen friends of Rohan, the alleged crimes of Rukma, and the haunting aura of the house all interweave in a chilling narrative that draws the Rao family into a labyrinth of the supernatural. As the boundaries of reality blur, the question remains: Who are Manish and Jyoti, and why is Rohan the only one who can see them?
