Under the Same Roof (2019)

In the bustling heart of Madrid, the year 2008, thrives Adrián, a prosperous CEO, deeply in love with his wife, Nadia. She's a fiery spirit, co-running the city's pioneering sex-shop with her old friend, Lucía. As the couple envision a future together, Adrián purchases a quaint suburban house, planning a life away from the city's hustle, raising their infant daughter, Marina. However, years later, their idyllic life crumbles, replaced with monotony and frustration. Adrián, once vibrant, is now a dull car salesman, leaning heavily on his old friend and colleague, Álex. Nadia's once-thriving sex-shop teeters on the verge of closure due to plummeting sales, while Marina, now a teenager, takes a gap year, chasing her dreams of online poker glory in Malta. With an empty nest syndrome setting in, Nadia attempts to rekindle their romance, planning a special birthday date. On the same day, Adrián is entrusted with delivering a critical speech for a group of American CEOs. Nerves lead him to a disastrous combination of sedatives and champagne, causing him to miss their date and wake up to an angry Nadia demanding a divorce. Confused, Adrián seeks counsel from Álex, suspecting Nadia of infidelity, while Nadia finds solace in Lucía's advice. Despite Adrián's desperate attempts to win her back, Nadia is adamant about the divorce. The couple's woes amplify when they realize the real estate market crash has left them unable to sell their house and saddled with a substantial bank debt. As Nadia collaborates with a young internet CEO, Nacho, to save her sex-shop by taking it online, Adrián and Álex lose their jobs following a vehicular accident. Seeking refuge, they move in with Álex's mother, Carmina. However, when Carmina sells the house to live by the Mediterranean, they're forced to return to Adrián's house. An intense battle ensues for ownership of the house and the looming debt, escalating into a spiraling vortex of hatred and violence. The once-loving couple now stands on opposite sides of a war, oblivious to the destructive consequences of their escalating animosity.
