Under the vast expanse of the Nevada skies, rodeo champion Roy Rogers (Roy Rogers) returns to his home town, only to stumble upon a chilling crime scene - the murder of old Tom Craig (Leyland Hodgson). Lending his aid to the impromptu sheriff, Gabby Whittaker (George Hayes), Rogers embarks on a journey that is far from a warm homecoming. Intrigue stirs at the heart of the Trading Post club, where Roy encounters the enchanting singer Helen Williams (Dale Evans). She is on a quest to reclaim a stolen family-heirloom crest from the now deceased Craig, a crest with more than just sentimental value. Unknown to Helen, the crest harbours a secret map leading to a hidden uranium deposit. Meanwhile, the villainous Arthur Courtney (Douglass Dumbrille) learns of Craig's demise and the elusive crest, ordering his henchmen to eliminate Roy and Helen, igniting a dangerous game of cat and mouse under the Nevada sun. In a twist of fate, a visit to Craig's ranch reveals the crest, ingeniously concealed within an old clock. However, Roy and Gabby soon find themselves held captive by Courtney's henchmen. As Courtney reveals the secret the crest holds, a thrilling fight ensues. With the odds stacked against them, it's up to The Sons of the Pioneers (Bob Nolan, Tim Spencer, Hugh Farr, Karl Farr and "Shug" Fisher), and a band of Roy's loyal Indian friends to come to their rescue.
