Plot

Set against the backdrop of the Civil War in 1863, Two Flags West follows a band of Confederate prisoners of war who pledge their allegiance to the Union Army. This unusual alliance, born out of their shared purpose to quell the Indian threat, is sealed by President Lincoln's Special Proclamation, promising these Confederate soldiers their freedom. Led by the gallant Colonel Clay Tucker, these Confederate Georgia cavalry prisoners join forces with the Union under the sole condition that they would not have to wage war against their own Confederacy. Their destination is Fort Thorn, a remote and under-resourced outpost on the Western Frontier. The fort's command falls under Union Major Henry Kenniston, a man crippled by an old war wound and carrying a deep-seated animosity towards Confederates. As the story unravels, the uneasy alliance between Unionists and Confederates teeter on the precipice of collapse, with old grudges threatening to resurface amidst their common battle against the Indians. Two Flags West is a tale of allegiance, animosity, and survival, painting a vivid picture of a pivotal era in American history.
