1947, Los Angeles, a city veiled not only by smog, but also a psychological haze. Private detective Roland Drake operates within this grey area, solving mysteries, courting danger, and falling for dangerous women while navigating a city under the corrupt thumb of its police force. The line between right and wrong is blurred in this brooding tale of love and deception, echoing the classic film noir style. Drake's life takes a downward spiral. He's dispossessed, dishonored, and discredited after a missing persons case goes awry, leaving his reputation in shambles. In a doomed romance that threatens to obliterate him and Jennifer, and forever bury all the mysteries, Drake finds himself questioning his own moral compass.
