Plot

In the tranquil mountain town of Granby, Colorado, nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, the peace was shattered on June 4th, 2004. As if awakening a dormant beast, a sixty-three-ton bulldozer, its skin fortified with a layer of steel and concrete, embarked on a relentless rampage. Methodically, it devoured homes and businesses, leaving in its path a trail of destruction that amounted to over eight million dollars in damage. "Tread" delves into this chilling event, focusing on the man behind the doomsday machine - Marvin Heemeyer, a master welder pushed to his breaking point. Quietly seething, he transformed the bulldozer into an unstoppable juggernaut with his own hands, seeking retribution against those he believed had wronged him. Despite the desperate attempts of state and local police, they were powerless against Heemeyer's monstrous creation. Even though it was armed with three high-powered firearms, no life other than Heemeyer's was claimed in this two-hour-long reign of terror. Through a captivating exploration of polarizing perspectives, "Tread" unravels the complex tapestry of this man, his motives, and the profound despair that drove him to such lengths. This gripping narrative is as much an expose on human breakdown as it is a chronicle of a town's darkest day.
