The Unit (2006)

From the multi-faceted writer and director of "House of Games" (1987) and 1997's "The Spanish Prisoner," the enviable talents of David Mamet kept audiences tuned in for four seasons of intrigue and high-octane drama with "The Unit." The series, which ran from 2006-2009 on CBS, was based on the real-life exploits of Army Special Forces detachments. These units are more commonly known as Delta Force. An impressive cast shines a light on the death-defying antics and uncommon valor these soldiers often display. Moreover, it also showcases the trials and tribulations of the families left behind as well as the trauma experienced by all involved.
