Plot

In the heart of Transylvania, a gripping tale unfolds as Zingarina, a pregnant woman, embarks on a journey from France. Guided by her unwavering resolve and accompanied by her loyal friend Marie, she is on a relentless quest. Her mission is not merely to explore this vibrant region of Romania, but to seek out Milan, her enigmatic lover who has left her with a budding life within her and a heart full of unanswered questions. To navigate the cultural labyrinth of Transylvania, they enlist the aid of Luminitsa, a seasoned guide, and interpreter. Zingarina's search ends in a crushing revelation when she finally locates Milan, only to be met with brutal rejection. The musician she once loved discloses that he was not forcefully deported from France, but willingly left her behind. This harsh truth sends Zingarina spiraling into despair and she abandons Marie and Luminitsa, becoming a solitary wanderer in a foreign land. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with a street-smart little girl, her innocence a stark contrast to Zingarina's heartache. As they navigate the streets of Transylvania, fate introduces Zingarina to Tchangalo, a travelling trader. Drawn to the nomadic lifestyle of her newfound companion, she embarks on a journey without a defined destination, seeking solace and perhaps a chance to start anew amidst the vivid tapestry of Transylvania. In this poignant narrative, Zingarina's quest for love evolves into a journey of self-discovery and resilience, painting a compelling portrait of a woman's strength against the backdrop of Transylvania's captivating charm.
