Plot

In the bustling, neon-lit world of Reno's casinos, we find Annie (Katey Sagal - Three Wise Guys), an indefatigable card dealer juggling the demands of work while raising her children. Her life grows more complicated when her ex-husband David (William Russ) exerts increasing pressure over their kids, culminating in a desperate act - he absconds with them. Meanwhile, in the quiet heartland of Lincoln, Nebraska, Cheryl (Pam Dawber) grapples with a parallel predicament. Her ex-husband Michael (Jeffrey Nordling), in a mirror reflection of David's actions, vanishes with their children leaving Cheryl in a mire of despair. Six months into their individual plights, their worlds collide when Cheryl, having discovered Annie's name through the missing children's network, makes a life-altering phone call. Despite their starkly different backgrounds - the glittering casino life and the tranquil midwest - they find common ground in their shared struggle. United by desperation and a fierce maternal instinct, they embark on an emotionally charged journey across the country, each step bringing them closer to their missing children. Their unlikely partnership forms the heart of this poignant tale, as they navigate the challenges of their search and the complexities of their own evolving friendship.
