In the heart of New Orleans, the city of soulful jazz and enchanting mystique, reside two devoted spinster sisters, Anna and Carrie Berniers. Here, they reside in their ancestral, debt-ridden home, tirelessly supporting their charming yet unpredictable brother, Julian, through his series of unsuccessful ventures. When Julian returns home with his newlywed bride, Lily, after a mysterious business stint in Chicago, the sisters' lives take an intriguing turn.
