In the sweltering heart of the Caribbean, Steve Case, a suave Banana Company executive, finds himself in a sticky predicament. Plantation No 7, a crucial part of his tropical empire, is in dire need of a leader. His sights are set on his former ally, the hard-nosed Nick Butler, who is on the brink of a promising managerial position in the wind-swept city of Chicago. The challenge: convincing Nick to forsake the concrete jungle for the humid, banana-laden fields of Central America. However, the plot thickens as the fiery night-club singer Lee Donley enters the scene. Tangled in a web of tension with Steve, she finds herself thrust aboard a ship bound for the US, while the shadow of the rebellious Rosario looms ominously. As fate would have it, the paths of Nick and Lee converge in the torrid zone, sparking an unpredictable dance of attraction; a tango on the tightrope of love, teetering between passion and uncertainty. Circumstances conspire to further entangle their lives when the unfaithful Gloria, wife of the former commander of Plantation No 7, and an elusive guerilla enter the picture. Amidst the chaos, a surprise visit from Steve Case adds fuel to the smoldering fire. As the tropical sun dips below the horizon, will Nick choose to remain the backbone of the banana empire?
