Set against the tumultuous backdrop of North Africa in September 1942, Tobruk tells the thrilling tale of an unlikely alliance formed amidst the chaos of war. Under the oppressive heat of the Sahara, a unique British special forces unit is drafted, consisting of German Jews who, despite the bitter resentment between them and their British counterparts, join forces in a high-stakes mission.
Their objective? To kidnap a master topographer, Canadian officer Donald Craig, held captive by the Vichy French in the distant reaches of Algeria. His expertise is the key to navigating 800 grueling miles of ruthless desert terrain and reaching their ultimate target: the monumental fuel storage base in Tobruk.
Joining this band of British and German-Jewish commandos is an American demolition expert. Together, they must overcome the relentless challenges of the desert, evade prowling German patrols, and root out the traitor within their ranks — all while preparing the ground for a crucial impending amphibious landing on the North African coast.
However, the mission takes a perilous turn when they stumble upon a formidable German armored force — a hidden weapon poised to tip the balance in the battle of Egypt. With each setback, the odds stack against them, their mission becoming a desperate race against time to blow up Rommel's strategic fuel supplies and shift the scales of war.
