Timeline (2003)

Time travel has been discovered, but it doesn't work quite the way that most science fiction stories would suggest that it does. A group of archaeologists learn this the hard way when the travel back in time to save a friend only to find themselves trapped in 14th century France with only their acquired talents as professionals to protect them. It's a time of war, and the team finds themselves caught right in the middle. They may have imagined that their advanced knowledge from a future timeline will make them akin to gods, but it only makes them more of a liability.
