In the sprawling digital universe, Thomas, a gifted yet introverted computer specialist in London, finds solace and companionship. His life revolves around the glow of his computer screen, where he forms a unique, albeit platonic bond with the enigmatic Cathy through their webcams. They've never exchanged words, yet their connection is palpable. Fate, however, turns this virtual haven into a chilling nightmare when Thomas witnesses a masked figure brutally murder Cathy on the live feed. Paralyzed by the horror and the realization that he doesn't even know her real name or location, he finds himself thrust into a terrifying mystery with only the thin thread of digital clues to follow. Detective Claire Bligh, a formidable Internet crime specialist from Paris, is summoned to unravel this tangled web of cybercrime. As she delves into the case, she uncovers that Cathy was residing in Amsterdam, and her murder echoes the grim fate of several women over the past years. These seemingly unrelated lives are bound by the sinister thread of snuff films produced for the perverse pleasure of the anonymous elite. As the only witness, Thomas teams up with Claire, stepping out of his digital comfort zone into the cold reality.
