Plot

In the heart of The Yankles, we meet Charlie Jones, a fallen star from the Los Angeles Spirits baseball team, whose career spirals down due to a relentless battle with alcohol. His third conviction for drunk driving lands him in prison, from where he emerges with a daunting task - 192 hours of community service. Shunned by the society that once idolized him, Charlie searches for redemption and a chance to make amends. His salvation comes in an unlikely form - a band of orthodox Jewish yeshiva students aiming to make their mark in the world of baseball as The Yankles. Their amateur status and desperate need for a coach echo Charlie's own desperation for a second chance. Despite hesitations on both sides, they take a leap of faith, and a unique alliance is born. As the story unfolds, Charlie navigates through the rough patches, shaping The Yankles into a formidable team while simultaneously rebuilding his tarnished reputation. He finds a new home within this unconventional troupe, and together they embark on a journey, not just for triumph on the baseball field but also towards personal redemption. The Yankles becomes a story about second chances, acceptance, and the power of an underdog team striving for victory, with a disgraced hero at its helm.
