Plot

In the minuscule kingdom of Bratenberg, the throne is held hostage by the whims of Prince Horace, an unruly heir whose antics are as outrageous as they are a desperate cry for attention from his emotionally distant father. Horace's reign of mischief is experienced most by his whipping boy, Jemmy - a resilient commoner who endures the prince's punishment without so much as a whimper. Jemmy's resilience is matched only by his sister Annyrose, who too finds herself unjustly thrown into the kingdom's jail. When Prince Horace's tomfoolery disastrously derails crucial border negotiations, the calamity forces him into an unforeseen adventure with Jemmy. As they escape the palace and are subsequently kidnapped, Horace gets a taste of life beyond the castle walls. He begins to value Jemmy’s street-smart survival skills, and through their shared trials, the arrogant prince finds a much-needed lesson in humility. Meanwhile, the king grapples with the harsh reality of his emotional neglect, realizing it as the root of Horace's reckless behaviour. As the kingdom hangs in the balance, the intertwined fates of a prince, a whipping boy, and a young girl unfold in a tale of friendship, growth, and redemption. "The Whipping Boy" serves as a vibrant tapestry of adolescent tomfoolery, royal recklessness, and unexpected camaraderie.
