In the glimmering world of Broadway, a radiant star named Valerie Stanton finds herself entwined in a tale of ambition, love and murder. Discovered by the legendary Broadway impresario Gordon Dunning, Valerie's life is a rhapsody of drawing room comedies and a high-profile romance. However, beneath the dazzling lights and applause, their relationship corrodes, as Dunning's possessive nature reveals a cruel intent to control Valerie's life and career, a circumstance she finds insufferable.
Valerie yearns for a chance to prove her mettle as a dramatic actress and finds a glimmer of hope in an offer to play the lead in "Hedda Gabler" by rival producer Peter Gunther.
