In the heart of New York City, Jennifer Fox, a renowned documentarian, finds herself on the brink of a personal revelation. Busy weaving stories of women from around the globe, her life takes an unnerving turn when her mother, Nettie, unearths a short story Jennifer penned in her adolescence. The tale, filled with vivid encounters with her summer camp riding instructor, Mrs. G, and running coach, Bill, sends ripples through the tranquil surface of her past. Nettie is disturbed by the underlying implications of her daughter's narrative, but Jennifer, who has always regarded her time with these charismatic figures with nostalgia, is unperturbed. Yet, spurred on by her mother's concern and bolstered by her fiancé's support, she embarks on a quest to piece together the jigsaw of her past. Her journey leads her to seek out the other children from the camp, now adults themselves, and ultimately, the enigmatic Mrs. G and Bill.
