In the shadowy corners of a quaint town, as the 20th century dawns, a series of chilling murders stirs the community to its core. The victims, all women burdened with physical afflictions, fall prey to an elusive serial killer who lurks in the town's underbelly. Among the terrified townsfolk is Helen, a beautiful and mute domestic worker serving in the grand, weathered mansion of the elderly and ailing Mrs. Warren. Helen's world is constricted by the stone walls of the Warren mansion, where she shares her existence with Mrs. Warren's two adult sons. Albert, the scholarly and composed professor, and the impudent, womanizing Steven add a complex dynamic to the household. As the sinister wave of murders sweeps closer to their doorstep, Mrs. Warren's fear for Helen's safety intensifies, her concern echoing in the mansion's hallowed halls. With the town held in the grip of terror and suspicion, Mrs. Warren implores her trusted physician, Dr. Parry, to whisk Helen away to the relative safety of distance. However, when the echoes of another murder reverberate within the mansion's walls, it becomes chillingly clear - Helen is ensnared in the spider's web of danger.
