Plot

In the shadowed corners of London, Mark Lewis, a solitary photographer, balances his existence between the world of professional film studios and the clandestine universe of supplying risqué images to a local adult magazine shop. His life is an eerie echo of an inherited mansion, large and empty, filled with tenants whose rent helps him maintain the behemoth and pay his bills. Scarred by a childhood spent as the unwilling subject of his scientist father's cruel experiments on fear, Mark has evolved into a deeply disturbed man, trapped in an obsession with capturing the faces of terrified women at the brink of their demise. His fixation births a macabre documentary, shot with a concealed blade within his tripod, recording the contorted expressions and final gasps of women he mercilessly murders. Mark's solitary world is interrupted by the arrival of Helen Stephens, a young woman who, along with her blind mother, resides in a flat within his oversized estate. Drawn into the vortex of Mark's unsettling existence, Helen visits his flat and is confronted by the horrifying black-and-white visuals of Mark's past. These chilling childhood films reveal the twisted experiments conducted by his father, leaving her appalled yet inexplicably drawn to him. As Mark grapples with his burgeoning feelings for Helen, he finds himself caught in a tangle of suspicion when a discerning detective begins trailing him. Torn between his dark obsession and the semblance of normalcy Helen offers, Mark finds himself teetering on the edge of a precipice. Will he succumb to the monstrous desires forged by his past, or can he seize a chance at redemption in the form of an innocent love? The lines blur in this chilling tale of a man's struggle against his own terror-ridden psyche.
