Dead Silence (2007)

Jamie Ashen's life was forever changed when he came home to find his wife's terribly mutilated corpse. His only clue was a box containing a ventriloquist's doll, but he knows instinctively what it means. The story of Mary Shaw was a local legend in Jamie's hometown — a crazy ventriloquist who was lynched by the town following accusations that she'd kidnapped a young boy. Jamie doesn't know why the ghost of Mary Shaw would be interested in his wife, but he knows that the detective on the trail considers him the prime suspect. Finding out the truth could also help him keep his freedom.
