In the wild backdrop of Africa, at the foot of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, acclaimed writer Harry Street finds himself hovering on the brink of mortality, wounded grievously from a hunting mishap. His life then intertwines with the enigmatic sculptress Elizabeth, known as Countess Liz. Despite the success of his novels and the intoxicating presence of Liz, Harry, still haunted by Cynthia's memory, embarks on a quest to find her. This futile search leads to an inevitable end with the Countess, paving the way for Helen, the woman who would become his current wife. Meanwhile, his long-suffering wife, Helen, tends to his wounds in the African wilderness, enduring his bitter reflections and tales of lost loves. Her unwavering devotion breathes new life into his waning will, challenging his self-perception as a failure.
