The Silver Whip (1953)

In the gritty landscape of Silver City, young Jess Harker yearns for a taste of adventure beyond the confining borders of his humdrum hometown. His life takes an unexpected turn when Race Crim, a seasoned stagecoach guard, intervenes. Commiserating with Jess's untamed spirit, Race convinces his superior to entrust Jess with the duty of driving the Silver City stagecoach, a responsibility fraught with peril and intrigue due to its precious cargo of gold. On the fateful journey, the stagecoach becomes the target of six ruthless outlaws. Amidst the chaos, Jess is injured, but Race's quick reflexes and sharpshooting prowess bring down three of the marauders, while the others flee with a portion of the gold. Undeterred, Race trails the escapees, leaving Jess to steer the stagecoach towards Silver City. In the city, Jess joins forces with Sheriff Tom Davisson and his posse, stumbling upon the aftermath of Race's relentless pursuit - the body of another bandit. In a tense standoff, the town's citizens, spurred on by Race, demand immediate retribution and storm the jail.
