The Reliant (2019)

In the wake of a devastating personal tragedy, a father grapples with his daughter's loss and his own imprisonment. Haunted by despair, he becomes fixated on the doctor who failed to save her life, consumed by a thirst for revenge that only intensifies with time. Seven years pass and his vengeance remains unquenched, but the world outside his prison walls is not as he remembers. The country, once a beacon of peace, is now a land consumed by social and economic turmoil. Its streets echo with the sounds of riots, the air is thick with fear and violence, and a lawless anarchy has claimed the once thriving civilization. As the father seeks his bitter revenge, the pandemonium outside exacerbates, sparking a chain of events that lead to a horrifying domino effect of death and destruction, ripping through a family and driving them into the harsh wilderness. In this new world order, we meet a 19-year-old girl, her heart heavy with unrequited love and her shoulders burdened with the responsibility of her younger siblings. Struggling to survive in the woods bordering this lawless chaos, she questions the existence of a benevolent God who would allow such devastation. As the family grapples with their new reality, the bonds of faith and kinship are strained and tested. They are plagued by uncertainty — can they trust in God, in each other, or even in the promise of a new dawn? In the face of such dire circumstances, will they survive or succumb to the wilderness and the anarchy that surrounds them? In their desperate struggle for survival, they wonder if they are truly alone or if there is a glimmer of salvation beyond their horizons. Is this the end of the world or the beginning of their redemption?
