Plot

In the twilight of the 19th century, the textile factories of Turin, Italy, are hellish landscapes of exploitation. Workers, impoverished and exhausted, trudge through fourteen-hour shifts in perilously unsafe conditions, their meager wages barely providing sustenance. The factory owners, indifferent to their plight, offer no insurance, and accidents are met with cold dismissal rather than compensation. The catalyst for change arrives in the form of a tragedy, as an older worker loses a hand to the relentless machinery. The shockwaves of this incident reverberate through the factory, stirring dormant seeds of rebellion in the hearts of the workers. Into this simmering unrest steps Professor Sinigaglia, a former high school teacher turned labor organizer, dispatched from the shadowy ranks of the Socialists. With his guidance, the workers embark on a daunting journey to challenge their oppressive conditions, igniting the fuse of a strike. The Organizer elegantly weaves a narrative of resistance and resilience, a testament to the indomitable spirit of the workers and their fight for justice. Set against the gritty backdrop of industrial Turin, the film is a poignant exploration of the human cost of exploitation and the spark of rebellion that can ignite in the face of adversity.
