Plot

In the shadowy underbelly of the city, the life of Bokgu, a child orphaned and raised by the clenched fist of the mob, is as brutal as it is uncompromising. Bound by the bonds of brotherhood, he idolizes his elder sibling, who is left teetering between life and death following an attempted suicide. Bokgu firmly believes that the glamorous actress, Cha Eunsuk, is the cause of his brother's despair and he plans his revenge with cold determination, slipping into Eunsuk's life as her unsuspecting bodyguard. His plans to tarnish her reputation and shatter her career are complicated by the love he bears for Han Dajung, a childhood friend who once saved him from the fiery grip of death. Bearing the scars of their shared past, Dajung is entrenched in a life of loan sharking, with Bokgu as her muscle - a life he loathes yet feels obligated to remain in. As Bokgu's plot of vengeance against Eunsuk unfolds, he finds himself ensnared in a web of conflicting emotions. His growing affection for Eunsuk clashes with his loyalty to Dajung, and his quest for justice for his brother is increasingly marred by doubts of its legitimacy. Internally tormented, he finds his outward actions becoming a stark contrast to the upheaval within him. Yet, as his carefully planned revenge reaches its bitter conclusion, Bokgu is consumed by self-loathing, leaving him to grapple with the devastating aftermath of his actions. "A Love to Kill" is a potent cocktail of unrequited love, revenge, and regret, set against the gritty backdrop of a city's underbelly, where love battles duty, and redemption is but a fleeting dream.
