Plot

In the bustling year of 1888, the harmonious Bower Family Band finds their melodious voices echoing with political fervor as they petition the Democratic National Committee, seeking to perform a song in honor of Grover Cleveland at the convention. However, the winds of change sweep them towards the Dakota territory, guided by the romantic aspirations of a suitor for their eldest daughter. In the heartland of Dakota, their arrival stirs the political pot. Grandpa Bower's fervent support for Cleveland ruffles feathers in a land where Republicanism reigns supreme. The Dakota citizens dream of dividing their territory into North and South Dakota, intending to send a quartet of Republican senators to Washington, a plan Cleveland staunchly opposes. The election results in a paradoxical victory, with Cleveland winning the hearts of the people, but Harrison claiming the Presidential throne through the electoral college votes. Amidst this political whirlwind, the once feuding young lovers decide to build their future in this land of opportunity, embracing peace amidst political discord. As the curtain falls on his term, Cleveland concedes to the Dakotans' wishes, transforming the territory into two states. He also brings balance to the political scales by adding two Democrat-leaning states to the Union, ensuring that both parties share the spoils of the political battlefield. The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band weaves a tale of music, romance, and political intrigue set against the vibrant backdrop of America's pioneering spirit.
