Plot

In the twilight of life, we meet Rex Page, a character brought to life by Ernest Borgnine, a man haunted by the specter of obscurity and an existence devoid of significance. A cruel stroke of fate lands him in the colorfully chaotic world of a nursing home, the staff of which is predominantly composed of Latin American immigrants. Rex's disgruntlement with his circumstances fuels his determination to escape, inadvertently stirring the pot of cultural discord with the Latino caregivers. However, the seemingly impenetrable cultural wall crumbles when it is unveiled that Rex's hand once clasped that of Vicente Fernandez, a titan of Mexican music, film, and an icon worshipped across the Latin world. This revelation transforms Rex's world, as the staff start to view him through a lens of reverence, treating him with the celebrity status he had yearned for all his life. Rex is suddenly thrust into the limelight he once dreamed of, a twist of fate that brings new meaning to his relationship with the workers and his own sense of self-worth.
