When the caustic wit and notorious radio personality, Sheridan Whiteside, embarks on a lecture tour in a quaint Ohio town, he reluctantly accepts a dinner invitation at the home of Daisy Stanley, a charmingly scatterbrained matron married to a conservative local businessman.
