The Legion of Missing Men (1937)

In the sun-scorched landscapes of the Foreign Legion, Bob Carter reunites with his long-lost brother Don after a decade of separation. However, his joy is clouded by worry as he realizes Don too has donned the uniform of the Legion. Amid the arid sands and camaraderie of their fellow Legionnaires, Muggsy and Bilgey, they find solace in a local café, where a melodious encounter awaits them. Nina, a captivating singer with a voice as intoxicating as the desert night, captures Don's heart, setting the stage for a complex love triangle. Unbeknownst to Bob, Nina's heart beats for him, even as he mistakenly believes she is entangled with Garcia. Bob, in a misguided attempt to protect his brother, urges Don to steer clear of Nina. Dismissing the advice, Don finds himself in a volatile confrontation with Garcia that lands him behind the bars of the company brig. A daring rescue by Nina and the enigmatic Arabian sheik, Ul Ahmed, sets Don free, but not without consequences. Bob, Muggsy, and Bilgey, in a bold pursuit, are ensnared by the sheik's forces and taken to his desert stronghold. The sheik’s sinister plan unfolds as he tortures Don to manipulate Bob into operating captured machine guns for his own nefarious purposes. As Ul Hamid's forces bear down on the fort, Bob, in a twist of fate, turns the weapons against their captors. Amid the echoing gunfire and swirling desert winds, the fort's fate dangles on a precarious edge.
