Plot

In the heart of the city, four women, bound by the chains of their dire circumstances, find themselves teetering on the edge of desperation. Lola, a single mother barely scraping by on the earnings from her janitorial and maid jobs, is at the end of her rope. Silvia, pregnant and forsaken by her lover - her boss, who is entangled in the ties of his marriage, finds herself in a dead-end situation. Maite, a recent widow, has just discovered her penniless state, yet yearns to uphold societal appearances and gift her daughter a lavish wedding. And then there's Pecholata, a rebellious punk living in a youth center, who's on the brink of being thrown out onto the harsh city streets. With every sunrise, as Lola scrubs the floors of a bank, an audacious idea begins to take root in her mind. A plan so daring, it might just be their ticket out of their desperate lives - robbing the bank. She convinces her unlikely companions to join her in this risky endeavor. Their plot involves donning male disguises, wielding replica guns, taking Silvia as their hostage, and executing a flawless robbery. However, their meticulously crafted plan begins to unravel, complicated by the unexpected involvement of Lola's ex-lover, Gustavo, who happens to be a police officer. In the gritty world of The Hold-Up, desperation becomes a catalyst for innovation, and a crooked bank manager might just be the unlikely accomplice they never knew they needed. Can they pull off the daring heist, or will their desperate attempts to escape their circumstances merely pull them deeper into the abyss?
