Plot

In the bustling heart of Manhattan, lives Wil, an accomplished Chinese-American lesbian surgeon. Her world is thrown into disarray when her mother, Ma, a widowed 48-year-old woman from Flushing, Queens, arrives at her doorstep. Suddenly banished from her home due to an unexpected pregnancy, a circumstance considered taboo in their Chinese community, Ma's presence casts a shadow over Wil's personal life. As the plot weaves through the vibrant city streets, Wil finds herself juggling her affection for Vivian Shing, the enchanting dancer and daughter of her hospital boss, and her duty to her mother. With her grandfather's stern decree hanging over their heads - that Ma can only return home if she's remarried or proves her pregnancy was an immaculate conception - Wil embarks on a quest to find a suitable Chinese bachelor to marry Ma. "Saving Face" is a colorful exploration of culture clash, love, and family ties that delves into the challenge of reconciling traditional values with the complexities of modern life. As the stories of Wil and Ma unfold, they're faced with the task of preserving their Chinese heritage while navigating the social intricacies of their American reality. This captivating narrative is an intersection of comedy, drama, and romance, revealing the lengths one would go to save face and protect the ones they love.
