The Guardian (1990)

In the serene canyon areas of Los Angeles, Phil and Kate Sterling find themselves embarking on an exciting new chapter of their life, having relocated from Chicago for a fresh career start. A joyous addition to their family comes in the form of a baby boy named Jake, but with Kate's imminent return to her demanding profession as a designer, they are swiftly thrown into the search for a live-in nanny. Their quest leads them to the Guardian Angel agency, and subsequently, into the magnetic aura of Camilla Grandier, a strikingly beautiful British woman with a seemingly natural flair for child-rearing. Despite her foreignness, Camilla integrates seamlessly into their lives, her charm not only captivating the Sterlings but also their close-knit circle of friends. Among them is the renowned local architect and contractor, Ned Runcie, who is particularly smitten by Camilla's allure. However, beneath the harmonious surface, an unsettling undercurrent begins to stir. Phil finds himself plagued by vivid dreams and nightmares featuring Camilla and little Jake, the eerily realistic nature of these nocturnal visions leaving him in a cold sweat and a cloud of growing suspicion. As the intensity of Phil's warnings escalates, Ned's curiosity leads him down a chilling path of discovery. His pursuit of Camilla reveals a sinister, otherworldly secret, pushing him into a desperate struggle for survival.
