Plot

In the heart of the NBA, the Pittsburgh Pythons languish, infamous as the league's most disastrous team. A sense of resentment bubbles beneath the surface, as players attribute their woeful performance to the team's star, Moses Guthrie (Julius Winfield Erving II), who they believe hogs all the glory. Driven to their breaking point, the team deserts, leaving the court to the unassuming towel boy, Tyrone Millman (James Bond III), and the spotlight-hungry Guthrie. In a desperate bid for redemption, Tyrone seeks the guidance of Mona Mondieu (Stockard Channing), a mystic astrologist with an unconventional solution. Inspired by the celestial wisdom, Tyrone proposes a daring idea to the team's owner: construct a new team entirely made up of players sharing Guthrie's zodiac sign, Pisces. An eclectic parade of quirky individuals, all Pisces, line up for the auditions, each weirder than the last. Yet, when they come together on the basketball court, they create a harmony previously unseen. Their unforeseen prowess stirs a winning streak that breathes new life into the team. In honor of the astronomical success, the team is rebranded as "The Pisces," marking a new era in their basketball journey. In depicting this tale of astrological alignment and underdog victory, 'The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh' weaves an enthralling narrative that is as unexpected as it is captivating.
