The Dream Team (1989)

In the heart of a bustling sanitarium, Dr. Weitzman's unconventional therapy group is a colourful milieu of misfit minds. Mike, a charming illusionist, Harry, a faux physician, Jack, a beleaguered ad executive receiving divine directives, and Albert, a grown man wrestling with his childhood fears, each present their unique eccentricities. Convinced that these four men are merely victims of the sterile sanitarium environment, Dr. Weitzman persuades the hospital administration to let him lead his "dream team" on an outing to a ballgame, hoping that a breath of fresh air might be the key to their rehabilitation. However, their day out soon spirals into a madcap adventure as they unwittingly stumble upon a sinister crime being committed. Dr. Weitzman becomes a casualty in the mayhem, landing in the hospital leaving his quartet of patients stranded in the sprawling labyrinth that is New York City. Now, they find themselves in a world that often seems more bizarre than their own minds, playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse. With both the police and the killers on their trail, and the life of their compassionate doctor hanging in the balance, the four must navigate the urban jungle, using their delusions as tools and obstacles alike.
