Plot

Haunted by a past stained with crime, Callahan (Moe Dunford) finds himself drawn back to the ghostly remnants of his family farm, a place abandoned for 15 years, echoing with the echoes of a murder he committed. His dreams of a fresh start, of selling the tainted land and escaping its grim memories, are stymied by the relentless presence of Sean, the tormented father of his victim. Every day for the past decade and a half, Sean has painstakingly searched the murky bog land surrounding the farm, driven by a desperate belief that his daughter's remains lie hidden beneath its surface. His life has become a monotonous cycle of digging, his hands etching a patchwork of sorrow into the land. In the face of this unyielding determination, Callahan realizes that his only escape lies in joining Sean in this grim task. As he plunges his own hands into the bog, he grapples with the fragments of his past, obscured like the bog itself by a haze of alcohol-fueled uncertainty. Together, the two men embroil themselves in a chilling dance of discovery and despair, their shovels unearthing more than just soil. As they dig deeper into the earth, they also uncover the dark secrets that have been lying dormant, ready to surface. "The Dig" is a riveting exploration of guilt, redemption, and the haunting power of unresolved sorrow.
