While en route to Chile, Maria, a 31-year-old woman, finds herself momentarily grounded in Buenos Aires. Amidst the city's bustling streets and vibrant culture, she surprisingly recalls a Spanish nursery rhyme, despite not knowing a word of Spanish. This haunting melody, sung in a language she doesn't understand, sends her into a spiral of intrigue and uncertainty. Choosing curiosity over her scheduled journey, Maria immerses herself in the foreign city's allure, recounting her strange experience to her father, Anton, over a long-distance call to Germany. Just two days later, Anton mysteriously appears at Maria's hotel, bearing a life-altering revelation: Maria's first breaths were drawn not in Germany, but amidst the political tumult of Buenos Aires during the late 1970s military dictatorship. The people she's known as parents had, in reality, adopted her and relocated her to Germany. With the revelation of this hidden past, Maria and Anton embark on a poignant journey, tracing the echoes of her true heritage back to her biological parents.
