Beneath the opulent façade of a luxury hotel on the German coast, a clandestine assembly of the world's most influential economists is in session. The G8 meeting, a powerhouse of global decision-making, is on the brink of enacting significant provisions that could ripple through the world economy. In the midst of these influential figures lurks an enigmatic presence - a humble Italian monk, whose invitation to this critical summit comes not from political affinity but a far more personal request. Daniel Rochè, the director of the International Monetary Fund, seeks solace in the monk's presence, desiring to unload his burdens through confession.
